John E. Ensor, Jr. of Earleville died June 12, 2013 at Union Hospital. He was 58. Born in Baltimore on January 15, 1955, he was the son of John and Betty Lou Ensor. He worked at Gray and Sons as a mechanic for 23 years. He enjoyed fishing and military history and was devoted to his “babies”, the family cats.
Barbara Carson of Rising Sun died at her home on Monday, June 10, 2013. She was 81. She was born in Rising Sun on May 10, 1932 to the late William and Dorothy (Bell) Cox. Mrs. Carson was a graduate of Rising Sun High School. In her earlier years, she was a licensed beautician and worked at a beauty shop in Oxford and later out of her home. She was a bookkeeper at Southern States in Rising Sun for over 10 years.
Kay Parks Bailiff of Rising Sun died Friday, June 7, 2013 at Union Hospital. She was 76. She was born in Sugar Grove, Virginia on December 20, 1936, daughter of the late Joel H. and Shirley R. Parks. Mrs. Bailiff lived in Sugar Grove until moving to Maryland in 1954.
George William Britt, of North East, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, June 16, 2013. He was 60. Mr. Britt was born in Baltimore on July 16, 1952, son of the late Lacy and Rita Britt.
Kenneth Ralph Shepherd of Oxford, Pa., died Saturday, June 1, 2013, of injuries he sustained in a vehicle accident. He was 53. Mr. Shepherd was born in West Chester, Pa., a son of the late Bryan and Betty Bare Shepherd.
Theresa Marie Williams of Perryville died at home Wednesday, June 5, 2013. She was 77. Born March 18, 1936 in Perryman, she was the daughter of the late Thomas William and Onnie Mae Boothe Kifer.
Alice J. Tarr of Elkton died Friday, May 31, 2013. She was 67. She was born April 6, 1946 in Ithaca, N.Y. to Howard and Mary (Schoolfield) Jennings.
Emma E. Smith of North East died Monday, June 3, 2013 at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center. She was 97. Born in Lititz, Pa., on November 12, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Gertrude (Leaman) Weicksel.
Vivian D. Oliver of Elkton died at home Wednesday, June 5, 2013. She was 81. Born in West Grove, Pa., on December 1, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Bernie Lee Letterman and the late Ella (Johnson) Letterman.
John “Jack” Evans of Chesapeake City died Saturday, June 1, 2013. He was 74. He was born November 7, 1938 to the late John and Marion (Bakeoven) Evans. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church of Chesapeake City, the Chesapeake City Lions Club, and the Upper Eastern Shore Anglers.
