Jeffrey Michael Rainier of Newark, Del. died Friday, July 17. He was 32.
He was born August 5, 1982 in Newport News, Va. Mr. Rainier served in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a surveyor for Civil Engineering Associates, Middletown, Del. Mr. Rainier enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Evelyn Christine Harris Love died July 8, 2015 at Harford Memorial Hospital of Havre de Grace. She was 85. She was born June 12, 1930 in Rolandville, Port Deposit, to the late Frank and Ruth Virginia Thomas Harris. She was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. She accepted the Lord at an early age, served on the Board of Trustees for many years, was a Missionary member, a member of the Lay Organization and the kitchen committee. She was known for making her famous potato salad for programs, activities and fundraisers. She loved singing in the church choir until her health failed. She attended Port Deposit Elementary School and Carver High School of Elkton. Following graduation, she worked in food services at Bainbridge Naval Training Center and the V.A. Medical Center of Perry Point. She later trained to become a Nursing Assistant. Marjorie L. Taylor of North East died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center. She was 94.
Born in Duryea, Pa., on September 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Mary Jane (Schaffer) Slatky. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the North East Fire Company, where over the years she had held the offices of president, vice president and treasurer. Audrey Melissa Osborne of Rising Sun died on Friday, July 10, 2015. She was 80. Mrs. Osborne was born in Whiteford on November 25, 1934, a daughter of the late Robert Edward and Elsie Mae Bullen Lloyd. She was a longtime member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she participated in many activities. Mrs. Osborne enjoyed spending time with her family and entertaining. Ida Doucette of Rising Sun died at home on Thursday, July 9, 2015. She was 87. Mrs. Doucette was born in New York City on January 31, 1928, a daughter of the late Ralph and Adela Grau Salmonte. She was an artist. Mrs. Doucette is survived by her husband of 67 years, Edmund J. Doucette; two sons, Edmund A. Doucette and Arthur R. Doucette; her daughter, Adrienne M. Doucette; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Carmen Scolamiero. Services will be held at a later date. H. (Homard) Terry Deamond of North East died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center. He was 71. A lifelong Cecil County resident, he was born on March 4, 1944, in Bay View, to the late Ralph Dewey and Myrtle Russell Deamond. Mr. Deamond was a 1962 graduate of North East High School. He was a 1965 graduate of Goldey Beacom School of Business in Wilmington, Del., where he received an Associate’s Degree with Honors. He had also attended Towson State College. He was employed as a computer programmer by E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. for more than 25 years and retired from Computer Sciences Corporation. While working for DuPont in 1991, he was selected to travel to Singapore to establish a data center. Howard E. Lockard Sr. of North East, died at home Friday, July 3, 2015. He was 80. A lifelong resident of North East, he was born on November 18, 1934, the son of the late James David and Mary (Simpers) Lockard. Mr. Lockard retired from Cecil County Public Schools Maintenance Dept. He also worked as a carpenter for Roger Bouchelle, Logan & Lutz and Howard Tome. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and the Recycled Teenagers. He enjoyed all cars and wood carving. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Jacqueline D. Russell of North East died Saturday, July 4, 2015 in the Union Hospital, Elkton. She was 86. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born in Bay View, on November 13, 1928, the daughter of the late Ralph and the late Myrtle (Russell) Deamond. Mrs. Russell was a lifelong member of Hart’s UM Church, Elk Neck. She enjoyed the Elk River and all the many activities associated with it. Robert Taylor McMullen of Chestertown, formerly of Rising Sun, died July 3, 2015. He was 76.
Mr. McMullen was born March 11, 1939 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, son of the late Ivan and Thelma McMullen. He attended school in Perryville. He served in the Marine Corps from 1956-1960, receiving an honorable discharge. He graduated from the Military Institute of the Marine Corps. |
