Marjorie L. Taylor of North East died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center. She was 94. Born in Duryea, Pa., on September 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Mary Jane (Schaffer) Slatky. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the North East Fire Company, where over the years she had held the offices of president, vice president and treasurer. She was also a member of Rebecca’s Lodge and the North East Homemakers. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Most of all she enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and spending time with them.
She is survived by her children, Marilyn A. Blankenship (Bobby) of Elkton, Delbert W. Taylor, Jr. (Rose) and Deborah A. Bowen (David) all of North East; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was the wife of the late Delbert W. Taylor, Sr. who died in 1996. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, where visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Burial will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations be made to the Ladies Aux. of NEFD or Hospice Foundation, both in care of the funeral home. Comments are closed.
