Howard E. Lockard Sr. of North East, died at home Friday, July 3, 2015. He was 80. A lifelong resident of North East, he was born on November 18, 1934, the son of the late James David and Mary (Simpers) Lockard. Mr. Lockard retired from Cecil County Public Schools Maintenance Dept. He also worked as a carpenter for Roger Bouchelle, Logan & Lutz and Howard Tome. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and the Recycled Teenagers. He enjoyed all cars and wood carving. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Lockard; their children, Jeanie A. Sizemore (Ricky), John D. Lockard (Deborah), Deborah S. Lockard-Shelley (Doug), Neddie G. Birney (Charlie) and James W. Lockard (Linda) all of North East; a brother, John Lockard of Knoxville, Tenn. and a sister, Florence Williams of Charlestown; 18 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three children, Linda D. Lockard, Howard E. Lockard, Jr., and Rebecca Jane Lockard. He was also preceded in death by five siblings, Henry Lockard, Mary Walker, Mabel Futty, Caroline Boone and Bertha Reedy. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Comments are closed.
