Michele Elizabeth Ann Ball, 48, of Port Deposit, MD formerly of Great Meadows, NJ passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 peacefully in her home with her loving family at her side.
She was the wife of Marc Edward Ball with whom she shared 25 years of marriage. Born in Paterson, NJ she was the daughter of Douglas Jobeless of Daytona Beach, FL and Patricia Miller Lukac (Richard) of Denville, NJ. Michele was a member of the Oxford Presbyterian Church and always focused on God’s love. She was a loving & dedicated mother, as well as a Girl Scout Troop Leader for 7 years; she loved photography, cooking, gardening, and was an inspiration to everyone who met her. James Matthew “Matt” Sexton of Elkton died at home Friday, April 8, 2016. He was 51. A lifelong resident of Elkton, he was born on October 27, 1964, the son of Cheryl A. (Stiltner) Sexton of Elkton, and the late Andrew B. Sexton. Mr. Sexton, who was self-employed, enjoyed boating with Jim, fishing, operating heavy equipment, doing mechanic work, fixing and repairing anything, cutting and splitting wood. JoAnn Kennedy of Rising Sun died April 7, 2016. She was 75. She was born on February 22, 1941 in Jonesville, N.C. to the late, Lucille (Myers) Sexton. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of the American Legion Post 194 Ladies Auxiliary. She worked at Calvert Manor Nursing Home and Cecil County Public Schools as a cafeteria worker. Mrs. Kennedy enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren as well as her family in N.C. Richard E. “Dick” Van Dyke, 67, of Albright, WV, and formerly of Rising Sun, MD, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 25, 1948 in Rising Sun, MD, a son of Kenneth D. and Doris Keys Van Dyke of Rising Sun, MD. Dick loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and his dog, Milo. Martha Ellen Johnson died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Lorien Bulle Rock Nursing Home in Havre de Grace. She was 73. She was born November 8, 1942 in Union Hospital, Elkton, daughter of the late Harry and Iola Brown. Ms. Johnson received her education at George Washington Carver High School in Elkton. She worked in housekeeping at Perry Point VA Medical Center in Perryville, MD. Ms. Johnson was a believer of Jesus Christ. During her childhood, she was raised in Reed’s AUMP Church, North East, where she served on the choir. Later, she attended Zion Temple Church in Havre de Grace, where she was baptized and attended bible study when able. She loved cooking, watching horror movies, and listening to hymns on Sunday mornings. She loved playing cards with family. Gina E. (Gwiazdowski) Patnaik, 37 of Falls Church, VA, formerly of North East, passed away suddenly due to an Acute Myocardial Infarction on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at her residence. She was born in the Republic of Panama, on October 23, 1978. Gina graduated from St. Mark’s High School in 1996 and with a Bachelor’s in Studio Art from St. Mary’s College in 2001. She loved animals, especially dogs and was passionate about animal rescue. She enjoyed knitting, Lilly Pulitzer apparel and travel. The Florida Keys was one of her favorite places to visit. She was a Senior Desktop Publisher, with Leidos Corp at Tysons Corner, VA. Robert Gerald Estes of North East died Saturday, April 2, 2016. He was 78.
Born in Johnson City, Tenn. on October 25, 1937, he was the son of the late Grady and Ivy Estes. Mr. Estes was raised in Burlington, N.C. and graduated from E.M. Holt High School. He eventually moved to Baltimore and joined the Maryland State Police in 1962. He was very proud of his service to the State of Maryland and the family he gained as a part of it. He was awarded the inaugural Ted Wolf Memorial Trophy at the MSP softball tournament. Georgia Anne Nunley of North East died Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Union Hospital, Elkton. She was 70. Born in Wilmington, Del., on August 20, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Robert George and Anna Laura (McDowell) Fike. Mrs. Nunley retired from Verizon where she worked as a lineman. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post #6027, North East, and a celebrity at Hollywood Casino, Perryville. Vicki Lynne Holbrook, 50 of Elkton, MD, died suddenly Monday, March 28, 2016. Born in Baltimore, MD, on June 22, 1965, she was the daughter of the late George Frederick Fitzroy, Jr. and Rosa Lee (Butler) Fitzroy. Vicki was a Customer Service Representative for Artesian Water. She enjoyed cooking and time by the pool. The most important thing in her life was her family. She loved taking care of them and watching them grow, especially her grandchildren. James David Crockett, Jr., 30 of Elkton, MD, died suddenly Monday, March 28, 2016. He was born in Ayers, MA, on February 9, 1986. He was a concrete finisher and took great pride in the work he did. David enjoyed fishing and horseshoes. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His greatest joy in life was his children. |
