The Solanco JV softball team recorded three more lopsided victories. Kaitlyn Borcky tossed a no-hitter as the Mules (6-0) downed Penn Manor 17-3 in five innings Friday. Borcky struck out six and walked five. "After a rocky first inning in the field [several errors], the defense behind Kaitlyn buckled down and made all the needed plays," coach Chad McDowell said. "With the lack of outside practice time this spring, we are still working on developing our fielding muscle memory, but we are getting better and learning."
Alyssa Henretty was 5 for 5 with three stolen bases and two RBIs. Maddison Pluck collected three hits and two RBIs. Brianna Firlein had two doubles and two RBIs. Borcky supplied two hits including a double and two RBIs. Lindsay Lane added two hits and two stolen bases. Solanco routed Garden Spot 21-4 in four innings on a windy, cold, damp day last Wednesday. Borcky earned the win with seven strikeouts while yielding four hits and four walks. "Fighting off the cold and at times not being able to feel her hand, I thought Kaitlyn did an outstanding job despite the weather conditions," said McDowell. Sarah Frawley was 3 for 3 with three RBIs. Firlein supplied a single, double, two RBIs, and two stolen bases. Molly Chew contributed two hits and two RBIs. Kaitlyn Dobinson added a single and two RBIs. The Mules mauled Lebanon 18-3 in three innings Monday, April 6. Kayla May had a huge game to spark Solanco. May picked up the win with two strikeouts and allowed three hits and two walks. "Kayla did a great job in her first time in the JV circle," McDowell said. She also belted a grand slam. Frawley had a hit, two RBIs and a stolen base. Lane also added a hit and knocked in two. Henretty singled, walked three times, and scored four runs. Dobinson singled and drove in a run. Borcky tripled and Chew singled. Comments are closed.
