William F. Taylor, Sr. of Oxford, Pa., died at home Friday, August 16, 2013. He was 77. Born in Oxford, Pa., he was the son of the late William M. and Charlotte Rubincan Taylor. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in the Korean War.Mr. Taylor was retired from the Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was a member of the American Legion Post #128 Aberdeen. Mr. Taylor was an avid hunter earning the nickname, William “One Shot” Taylor.
He is survived by two sons, William Taylor, Jr. of Baltimore, Jeffrey A. Taylor of Canadensis, Pa.; two daughters, Tracey Pickett of Newark, Del., Michele L. Miller of Oxford; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary E. Mieloch of Coral Gables, Fla. and Frances Ann Gibney of Rising Sun. He was the husband of the late Lillian E. Neaus Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 86 Pine St. Oxford, PA, where friends and family may call 10-11a.m. Burial will be in Oxford Cemetery.
