William D. Creeger of Rising Sun died at his home Tuesday, September 16, 2014. He was 90. Born September 6, 1924 in Tiffin, Ohio, he was the son of the late William H. and Clara E. Creeger. Mr. Creeger enlisted in the United States Navy December 7, 1941 shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He served much of his time in the South Pacific during World War II. The Creegers owned and operated a greenhouse which they called ‘Hidden Valley’. He later managed the Creeger Home and Hardware Store for 12 years. Though William enjoyed farming and operating his small businesses, the thing that brought him the most joy and that he was most proud of was serving in the U.S. Navy. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Beatrice Creeger; son, Norman Creeger; and grandson, Sonny Creeger.
