Warren Ramsey Burke, 65 years of Port Deposit, MD, died on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at his home. He was the loving husband of 46 years to Rebecca Gayle (Viers) Burke. Born June 1, 1951, Warren was a son of the late Ruth Marie (Blake) Kilgore. Warren was an iron worker for Iron Works Local #16 of Baltimore for over 35 years. He was proud of his expert contributions to the building of the Ravens Stadium, National Aquarium and Chesapeake Bay Bridge as well as many bridges and tunnels in the Baltimore area. He also helped to build Camden Yards where he personally claims to have thrown the first pitch from the mound before it was ever completed. Warren was an avid ballplayer enjoying both softball and basketball in his youth and coaching for Aberdeen Parks & Recreation where he served as former president. Spending time with family, particularly his grandchildren, was very important to him. You always knew Warren liked you when he picked on you; it was his form of endearment.
He is survived by three children, Joseph McKinley Burke and his wife Tara of Port Deposit, Warren Ramsey Burke, Jr. of Port Deposit, and Melissa (Lisa) Nichole Thornton and her husband, Daryll of Aberdeen, nine grandchildren, Alexis Marie Burke, Joseph Colton Burke, Daryll Yusef Thornton, Jacob Dylan Burke, Micah Isaiah Thornton, Joely Renee Burke, Ashley Kendall Burke, Willow Danielle Burke, Donovan Xavier Thornton, brother, Randall M. Kilgore and his wife, Amy of Red Lion, PA, sister, Linda M. Neaves and her husband, Tim of Airville, PA, brother in law, Floyd Viers and wife Sarah, special niece, Stephanie Detta Kitts and her daughter, Lila Brooke Kidwell, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Allen Kitts Services will be held on Saturday, November 5th. at Harkins Funeral Home, Delta, PA with Pastor Chris Starr officiating.
