Vernon Thomas Vaughan of Charlestown died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the University of Maryland Medical Center of Baltimore. He was 79. Born December 13, 1934 in Roanoke, Va., he was the son of the late Frank Austin and Lelia May Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville,, and a life member of the American Legion Joseph L. Davis Post No. 47 of Havre de Grace.
He is survived by his sister, Dulcie Martin of Virginia. In addition to his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Clark Vaughan. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 16, 2014, 2 p.m., at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014, 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Blake Ward of Great Commission Church of the Nazarene of Havre de Grace, will officiate. Burial will be in Garrison Forest Cemetery, Owings Mills. Comments are closed.
