Thomas L. White of Rising Sun died Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He was 62. Born in Havre de Grace, MD on April 16, 1955 he was the son of Dorothy Ann (Parker) White and the late Donald Lloyd White Sr. Mr. White was brought up in the Baptist faith. For 28 years he worked at Bruce Industrial, New Castle, Del., as a construction foreman and was a former post commander for the Sons of the American Legion. Mr. White enjoyed watching reality TV and was an ace mechanic who loved working on cars, go-karts and anything that had a motor. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley White of Rising Sun; three daughters, Amanda Cox (Michael) of North East, Tabitha White (boyfriend, Hank) of Franklinville, N.J., Hayley White of Rising Sun; son, Thomas L. White Jr. (partner, Hailey) of Rising Sun; son of his heart, Christopher Steppe of Rising Sun; three grandchildren, James (Bubba) Boothe, Trinity Cox and Kiera Cox; mother, Dorothy White of Phoenix City, Ala.; brother, Donald White Jr. (Donna) of Colora; three sisters, Ruth Muir (Pat) of Rising Sun, Betty Jenkins of Phoenix City, Ala. and Dawn Hightower of Midland, Ga.; and uncle Lowell White (Pauline).
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald White, Sr. A celebration of his life will be held at noon on Friday, January 12, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Pastor Robert Madron (Uncle Bob) will be officiating the ceremony. Family and friends may begin visiting at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Brookview Cemetery, Rising Sun.
