Thomas Gary Janney, Sr. of Rising Sun died at home Friday September 12, 2014. He was 69. Born in Elkton, he was the son of the late Brown and Bertie Janney. He worked for APG for eight years until his disability. Later he went to Eldreth Construction where he was a dedicated worker for 31 years. Mr. Janney was a sports lover and he especially loved his Ravens and Orioles. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play ball and grow up. He loved his precious dog Chloe.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Hazel Janney; a son Gary Janney and wife Julie of Port Deposit, two daughters, Michele King and husband John of North East, and Renae Lyons and husband Phil of Rising Sun; six grandchildren, Brooke, Corey, Kayla, Jaclyn, Victoria and Phillip; and two brothers, Garland Janney and his wife Marie and Marvin Janney. A service honoring his life will be held at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 1701 Liberty Grove Road, Colora, on Thursday September 18, 2014, at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held at the church Wednesday September 17 from 6-8 p.m. or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice or Mount Pleasant Church and mailed to R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S.
