Thomas Allen Ashley of Rising Sun died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at home. He was 63. Born April 9, 1951 in Elkton, he was the son of the late Fred Elmer and Lucinda Shirley Blevins Ashley. Mr. Ashley was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 194 of Rising Sun, and a member of the Vietnam Veteran Association. He was a self-employed truck driver.
Mr. Ashley is survived by his wife Odetta Jean Robbins Ashley of Rising Sun; sons, Timothy James Ashley and wife, Megin, and Scott Allen Ashley, all of Rising Sun; one grandson, Issac Ford of Gap, Pa.; brothers, James Fred Ashley of Columbus, Ohio, Frank Brian Ashley and wife, April, of Colora; sisters, Charmie Marcum and husband, Chuck, of Grove City, Ohio, Margie Martinez and husband, Ralph, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Sue Knowles of Bremerton, Wash., Betty Palmer of Chesapeake, Va., Stella Bolt and husband, Lewis, of Colora, Marie Ashley of Port Deposit, Kathy Deel and husband, Lenny, of Punta Gourda, Fla., and Ann Gray and partner, Mike Frassico, of New Castle, Del.; mother-in-law, Mary Alice Johnson Robbins of Livingston, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Virginia Gail Cantrell and Jane Ann Harris, both of Livingston, Tenn.; and twenty nieces and nephews. In addition of his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer “Bub” Gregory Ashley; father-in-law, M.J. Robbins; brothers-in-law, J.D. Cantrell and Jame Harris. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, November 19, 2014, 10 a.m., at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 7-9 p.m., at the funeral home. Rev. Larry Johnson of the New Life Faith Center Church of Port Deposit, will officiate. Burial will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora.
