Tana Lynn Erbe, 60, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 1, 2016. Born on September 6, 1955 in Coaldale, PA, she was the daughter of Mary Ellen (Yeager) Boyer and the late Harold Boyd Boyer. Tana earned her Bachelors of Science degree from East Stroudsburg State College, where she graduated in 1977. Upon graduation, she worked for the State of Maryland as a parole and probation agent, and later was promoted to supervisor from which she retired in 2009. Tana was an avid walker and loved the beach. She was also an avid reader, and loved music, cooking and baking. Above all, she was very devoted to her family and her church. In addition to her mother, Tana is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Lewis M. Erbe; two daughters: Lindsay Erbe of Columbia, MD, and Adrienne Phillips and her husband Chad of Rising Sun, MD; son, Lewis B. Erbe and his wife, Courtney, of Rising Sun, MD; six grandchildren: Lucy Stever, Carson, Braylon, and Colee Phillips, and Hattie and Ashby Erbe; and sister, Jane Reagan and her husband, Robert, of Telford, PA.
A celebration of Tana’s life will be held at 11AM on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Janes United Methodist Church, 213 N. Walnut St., Rising Sun, MD 21911, with a visitation held from 6-8PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Janes United Methodist Church, as well as one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will follow the service at Brookview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made payable to “Janes United Methodist Church” or “Alzheimer’s Association” and sent care of R.T.
