Clayton M. Vant Hoff of Townsend, Del., formerly of Heritage Park, Wilmington, Del., died at home Tuesday, September 18, 2018. He was 90. Born in Waupun, Wisconsin, on March 26, 1928, he was the son of the late Albert and Sadie (Sommers) Vant Hoff. Raised on a farm with his seven brothers and a sister, he knew what hard work was and he was an example of what hard work and determination can accomplish. While still in Wisconsin, running his own egg business, he met his wife Wilma (Billie). They would go on together, moving to Delaware, growing their family and eventually realizing a dream of building what would be the family business, Action Coffee, for 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wilma (Billie) Vant Hoff; eight children, Robert Boyle (Marlene), Jean Younce, Ronald Boyle (Cheryl), Donald Jahns, Jr. (Bobbi), Susan Caputo, Barbara Hughes (David), Mark Vant Hoff, and Nancy Altizer (Darren); 24 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 22, at 2 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery. Comments are closed.
