Ruby Jean Gilbert Rycroft, a resident of Kindley Rd., died at home Sunday October 21, 2018. She was 72. She was born January 22, 1946 in Cecil County, daughter of the late John Clarrington Gilbert and Mabel Marie Moats Gilbert. Mrs. Rycroft was a homemaker and worked in the furniture industry for many years. She was of the Baptist faith, loved cooking and being a homemaker. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Riddle of Elkton; two sons, Mark Riddle of Edgewater, and Eric Riddle and wife Karyn of Elkton; sister, Virginia Floyd of Thomasville; three brothers, David Gilbert of Rising Sun, Dennis Gilbert and wife Deborah of Port Deposit, and Dallas Gilbert and wife Tina of Lakeland, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Ian Riddle and Cameron Riddle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a sister, Betty Johnson and one brother, John “Sam” Gilbert. She was married to Bobby Rycroft, who also preceded her in death. A memorial graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 28, at Gilpin Manor Memorial Park Cemetery in Elkton, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
