Rose Mary Marchese of Elkton died Monday, February 9, 2015 in Union Hospital, Elkton. She was 81. Born in Landenberg, Pa., on September 17, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles Joseph and the late Margaret Theresa (Kelley) Destafney. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Marchese worked as a nurse. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception/St. Jude’s RC Church Parish and the Red Hat Society, and enjoyed crocheting and playing cards.
Survivors include her four sons, Joseph Brown of Torrance, Cal., Michael Brown of Newark, Del., Stephen Brown of Rising Sun, and Timothy Brown of Perryville; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Vincent “Jim” Marchese who died in 1995. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Marchese was also preceded in death by a son, David Brown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 13, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 454 Bow Street, Elkton, where the family will receive guests in the Chapel beginning at 9-11 a.m. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Elkton.
