Richard Lee Taylor, Jr., of Chesapeake City, MD passed away on June 2, 2017. He was 79. He was born on August 21, 1937 in Salisbury, MD to the late Richard Lee Taylor, Sr. and Tillie (Church) Taylor. Richard was a graduate of Wicomico High School and Salisbury College in Salisbury. He obtained his Master's Degree from Washington College in Chestertown. He continued his education and took advanced courses for his school administration certification. He dedicated 31 years to Cecil County Public Schools. He also earned his Graduate Realtor Institute credentials and worked for 20 years as a Cecil County Realtor. Richard was a 56 year member of Town Point United Methodist Church where he served as their president of administrative council, member of the Trustees, and treasurer. He would also attend St. Peter's Anglican Church.
He was an officer of Historic Chesapeake City, Inc. and past president of the Chesapeake City District Civic Association. Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, MaryAnna Lake Taylor; sons: Richard L. Taylor, III of Chesapeake City, and Randall L. Taylor of Woodbine, MD; "selected" daughters: Barb K. of Charlestown, and Tina J. of Middletown, DE; brothers: Robert L. Taylor and his wife, Julia of Salisbury, and David C. Taylor and his wife, Carmen of Salisbury; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation was held on, Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8p.m. at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, MD 21915. A memorial service was held to celebrate Richard's life on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Town Point United Methodist Church, 61 Port Herman Road, Chesapeake City, MD 21915. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made payable to, "Town Point United Methodist Church" towards the building maintenance fund or "St. Peter's Anglican Church" roof fund and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
