Richard Eugene “Gino” Palmer of Elkton, died at home Friday, December 12, 2014. He was 76. Born in North East on July 3, 1938, he was the son of the late Charles and Bertha (Heverin) Palmer. He served in the Maryland National Guard and retired from Maryland Portable Concrete, where he worked as a truck driver. Mr. Palmer was a member of V.F.W. Post #6027, North East, and enjoyed bowling. Survivors include his children, Richard E. Palmer, Jr. of Chesapeake City, William L. "Bill" Palmer of Elkton, Gerald B. Palmer, III of Elkton, and Robin A. Vermeersch of Elkton; his siblings, Verna McKinney, Louise Fillippone, Teresa Heath, Selma Harvey, Jack Palmer, Fred Palmer and Jerry Palmer; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was the husband of the late Jean Louise Palmer. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marylee Owens. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will immediately follow services in Elkton Cemetery, Elkton. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to help with expenses to the funeral home. Comments are closed.
