Richard Clyde Brewer, of Elkton, died on Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was 79. Mr. Brewer was born in Canebrake, WV, on January 7, 1935, son of the late James Luther and Susie Gaynes Brewer. He was known to help others overcome obstacles in their lives. He was always willing to share his self-taught knowledge, he was a teacher to many. He was an entrepreneur known throughout the county for his high quality custom homes. He was a devoted family man, an avid gardener and a talented nature photographer who enjoyed music, history, science and fishing. Mr. Brewer is survived by his four daughter and sons-in-law, Debora and Steve Meranski, Diana and George Leffew, Daphney and Chuck Walker, and Darla and John Gysling; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Sally Stout and husband George and Mary Gilbert.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife and soulmate of 56 years, Ruby, who passed away in April 2014 and his grandson, Michael. Friends can call at the R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A. in Rising Sun on Friday, July 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rosebank Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made payable to Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children and mailed to the funeral home. Comments are closed.
