Nick G. Notarcola of Rising Sun died at home December 11, 2014. He was 74. Born July 27, 1940 in Havre de Grace, he was the son of the late Gaetano Notarcola and Yolanda (Rappaselli) Notarcola. He spent 23 years as a welder and Quality Control Inspector at Wiley Mfg. & Shipyard in Port Deposit. He retired as a sub-contractor at APG in Aberdeen. He was an auxiliary member of the VFW Post 8185 in Port Deposit, and a SAL member of the American League, Post 135 in Perryville.
Mr. Notarcola enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, especially to Atlantic City, and mowing his lawn every four days. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Terry, two sons, Mark (Charlene) Notarcola of Port Deposit, and Jim (Jen) Walker of Paisley, Fla.; three brothers, Dominic (Linda), Joe (Sharon) and John (Mary) Notarcola all of Perryville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Notarcola. A service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends my visit beginning at 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made payable to the Seasons Hospice Foundation and sent in care to the funeral home.
