Michael Warren "Mike" Carter of Rising Sun died at home Friday, July 27, 2018. He was 66. Born May 18, 1952 in Milford, Del., he was the son of Helen May (King) Carter and the late Warren Howard Carter. Mr. Carter was a handyman and could fix anything. He worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, most recently as a lab technician for DuPont. He loved spending time in nature whether he was fishing, hiking or camping. He also enjoyed visiting the ocean when he could. A dog-lover, Mr. Carter always had a trusty four-legged companion to share in his joys throughout life. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Including his mother, Helen Carter, he is also survived by his wife of 44 years, Catherine Carter; two children, Matt Carter and his wife, Erin and Alison Carter-Lazalde and her husband, Logan; and three grandchildren, Keely, Hattie and Rowan.
A celebration of life will be held at noon on Monday, August 6, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends may visit beginning at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to “The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse” and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
