Mary Ellen Hardesty, 82 of North East, MD, went to heaven to be with her mother, husband, daughter and granddaughter on Friday, December 9, 2016 in the Elkton Transitional Care Center. Born in Dallas, NC, on October 1, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Michael Theodore and Lillian (Alexander) Costner. She was a Seamstress, employed by Lass and Associates in North East, MD. Mrs. Hardesty is survived by her daughter: Debra Ellen Upchurch (Ronnie) of Elkton, MD; stepdaughter: Kitten Woody of Baltimore, MD; sister: Betty Bumgarner of NC; grandchildren: Crissy Fleetwood, Jason Forino, Justin Collins, Anthony Woody and Shawn Woody; and great grandchildren: Grace Anderson, Ava Anderson, Gabrielle Forino, Mathew Forino, Quentin Fleetwood, Jacob Collins and Ronnie Upchurch, Jr.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband: Edward M. Hardesty; daughter: Linda Collings and a granddaughter. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. A visitation for family and friends is one hour before the service. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Elkton, MD The Hardesty family would like to say a special thank you to the angels of hospice: Angela, Rae Ann, Tammy and Carol.
