Marjory "Betty" Frazier, of Rising Sun, died at home on Friday, June 21, 2013. She was 85. Mrs. Frazier was born in Bainbridge on February 12, 1928, daughter of the late Emma Ropka Steinhilber and Robert Bernard Steinbilber. She graduated from the Jacob Tome Institute in Port Deposit in 1945. She worked as a secretary, first at the VA in Perryville and finally retiring as an executive secretary at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds. She and her husband, the late William Frazier, Jr., were wed on June 4, 1953 and had four children. Her volunteering and support of her children's educational activities were honored with a lifetime membership in the PTA. She loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Mrs. Frazier was a talented artist, she attended the Schuler School of Fine Arts, in Baltimore. She taught oil painting lessons locally for 20 years, was juried member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, and was represented by a gallery in St. Michaels for many years. She loved music, could sing and play piano, and enjoyed reading mysteries and doing crossword puzzles. After Betty and William retired, they discovered the beauty of the "Northeast Kingdom of Vermont" and designed, modeled and built their own log home to enjoy summers there. She is survived by her sons, William Frazier, of St. Louis, MO, Robert Frazier, of Bel Air, and Mark Crankshaw, of St. Louis; a daughter, Marla Frazier, of Rising Sun; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by her only sibling, Richard Lee Steinhilber in January of this year, and a step-daughter, Sheryl Frazier. A graveside service will be held at the Asbury Church Cemetery in Port Deposit on Thursday, June 27. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) c/o of R.T.
