Margaret “Peggy” Sprout of Rising Sun died March 12, 2016 at Jennersville Regional Hospital. She was 75. A lifelong resident of Rising Sun, she was born on May 31, 1940, the daughter of the late, Harry J. Fox and Virginia Stephens Fox. Mrs. Sprout was the fifth generation to live on her family farm. She was a life member of Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun. Additionally, she was a life member of the Cecil County Farm Bureau, the Cecil County Farm Museum, Cecil County 4-H and All Stars. She could always be found in the kitchen cooking for any organization that needed her. No one ever left her presence hungry. She also enjoyed canning, gardening, crocheting, and was devoted to her family, including her 4-H children, where she was affectionately known as G-Ma.
She is survived by sons, Stephen Lee Sprout, of Rising Sun, and John Gary Sprout, of Elkton; and daughters, Susan Marie Sprout Knight, of Rising Sun, Donna Kaye Waller of Havre de Grace; and nine grandchildren, Erica Lynn Sprout, James Ryan Sprout, Heather Renee Sprout, John Tyler Sprout, Destiny Anne Sprout, Faith Rose Sprout, Taylor Nicole Knight, Lance Mason Waller, and Graham Nelson Lee Waller. A celebration of her life will be held, Monday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 20, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. The burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made payable to the “Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun” or the “Cecil County 4-H”. Comments are closed.
