Margaret Marie Drew of Bradenton, Fla., died Friday, December 11, 2015 at Abbey Manor Assisted Living, Elkton. She was 95. Born in East Orange, N.J., on September 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Martin Thompson and Ann (King) Thompson. Mrs. Drew retired from N.J. Bell Telephone, starting out as an operator and working her way up to management. While working as an operator for the phone company, she used to connect Frank Sinatra to his mother in Hoboken, N.J. She was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers for over 30 years, and was past president in the Florida Chapter.
She is survived by her children, Robert W. Drew (Karen) of Madison, N.J., Donald F. Drew (Marilyn) of Bridgeton, Maine, and Janet Connor (William) of North East; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was the wife of the late Wesley Drew. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 454 Bow Street, Elkton, with visitation held from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Comments are closed.
