MaryAnn Loomis of Elkton died Wednesday, February 25, 2015. She was 76. She was born on October 14, 1938 Wilmington, Del., to the late Charles Bradford Dennie and Edith Anabell Dennie. Mrs. Loomis grew up in Rockford Park, Delaware. After graduating from Wilmington High School she worked as a secretary for the DuPont Company. Then for many years she owned and operated “MaryAnn’s Nut Farm” with locations in Newark and Rehoboth Beach, Del. She also worked with her husband in his business, Loomis Appraisal Company. Mrs. Loomis was a member of the Newark United Methodist Church, Newark Country Club and was active with her girls on the swim team.
She enjoyed crafts, camping with her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by their daughters, Keely Wikstrom and her husband, Kevin of Newark, Del., and Shelley Veasey of Baltimore; 4 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Dennie of Newark, Del. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, at the R. T. Foard and Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, at the Newark United Methodist Church, 69 E. Main Street, Newark, DE, 19711 where family and friends may visit starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery in Elkton.
