Mabel Ann Harrington of Chesapeake City died Sunday, February 22, 2015 in the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Baltimore. She was 68. Born in Elkton, on January 4, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Ward and the late Mabel Blanch (Lockard) Futty. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Harrington worked at Thiokol from 1979 until 2011 as a production operator. She was a member of Ebenezer UM Church, Rising Sun, where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Harrington loved spending time with her family; loved bingo, fishing, shopping, wildlife and all holidays. She was very generous and good hearted and was loved by everyone she met. Survivors include her children, Brenda Hepbron (Kevin) of Chesapeake City, Dwayne Harrington (Robin) of Cecilton, nd Patricia Bailey (Shaun) of Chesapeake City; three sisters, Mary Lou Thompson of Rising Sun, Ella Maxwell of Gray, Tenn., Betty Cannon of North East, and one brother: Ward Futty, Jr. of North East; seven grandchildren, Johanna, Ashley, Richie, Ben, Ariel, Hunter; and Dean; and her four great grandchildren, Camryn, Corinne, Abbigaile and Liam.
She was the wife of the late Allen Harrington. A funeral service, conducted by Rev. Mark Maxwell, will be held Friday, February 27, at 11 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. Burial will follow services in Brookview Cemetery, Rising Sun.
