Louise Blake White of Wilmington, Del. died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Wilmington Hospital. She was 95. Born in North East, Maryland on September 26, 1920, she was the daughter of T. Kennard and Helen Moffitt Blake. Mrs. White grew up in North East and graduated as Valedictorian of her class from North East High School. She continued her education at Beacom College and worked before her marriage at Hercules Corporation. She was married in 1944 to Austin E. White, and became a homemaker until her husband died in 1960. At that point in her life, she went to work at Mount Pleasant Junior High School as an Administrative Assistant to the Vice Principal. She spent 22 years in the Mount Pleasant School District until her retirement in the early 1980s. She was a member of Hillcrest-Bellefonte Methodist Church where she was active in a number of endeavors. Mrs. White enjoyed sewing, knitting and numerous craft and art projects. She spent a number of years traveling throughout the United States and enjoyed the company of many close friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas (Marsha) and Richard; four grandsons, Anthony (Laura), Andrew, Adam (Ana) and Jeffrey; seven great grandchildren, Juliana, Michael, Lily, Madeline, Natalie, Emily and Samantha, as well as her former daughter-in-law, Jean White. She is also survived by a sister, Ann Reynolds (Chauncy). A graveside service will be held at North East Methodist Cemetery on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Comments are closed.
