Lois Ann Jackson Meehan of Rising Sun died Friday, November 21, 2014 in Christiana Hospital of Newark, Del. She was 82. Born February 1, 1932 in Elkton, she was the daughter of the late H. Wilbert and Lois Genevieve Jackson. Mrs. Meehan was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a Shaklee Coordinator and Sales Leader. She was a former Lay Leader of Hopewell Church where she organized the first ladies tea ministry. She also enjoyed sharing the gospel over tea in her Victorian parlour. She made a difference in the lives of many people. She is survived by her children, daughter, Lois Marilyn Solomon of Dallas, Texas, sons, William C. Meehan and John W. Meehan, both of Rising Sun; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was also a mother to several other women providing them support, guidance and love. In addition, she supported three children in India through the HOINA organization. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Michael Meehan. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Hopewell United Methodist Church of Port Deposit. Pastor Herbert Cain of Hopewell United Methodist Church officiated and was assisted by Pastor Vaughan Hayden. Burial was in Brookview Cemetery, Rising Sun. Comments are closed.
