Lillian Pauline Tester of North East died Monday, January 6, 2014 in the Heartland Hospice House, Wilmington, Del. She was 73. Born in Elkton on April 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Mary (Alexander) McMullen. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Tester was a secretary at the Flying J Truck Stop and R.C. Burkheimer Auction both in North East. She enjoyed crafts and traveling. She enjoyed her work and talking with people. She was a real ‘people person’.
Survivors include three daughters, Terry Tester of Chestertown, Darlene Snyder of Elkton, and Teresa Simpers of North East; two sisters, Elizabeth Deckman of Port Deposit, and Doris Rhodes of Bayview; five grandchildren, Anna Marie White, Danny Simpers, Donald Snyder, Jr., Amanda Aultman and Michael Connolley; and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tester was also preceded in death by six siblings, Clyde McMullen, Harry McMullen, Mae MCGonigal, Frances Tapp, Arthur McMullen and Bessie Moore. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where the family will receive guests beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery.
