Kenneth Lynn Kammer, Sr. of Elkton died Thursday August 29, 2013 at Genesis Healthcare. He was 71. Born in Philadelphia, Pa. on February 7, 1942, he was the son of the late Fred and Valeria Mease Kammer. Mr. Kammer was a graduate of Germantown High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1961-1965. After his discharge, he worked for Philadelphia Electric Co. as a pipefitter. He was foreman at Conowingo Dam when he retired in 1994. His hobbies included boating and sailing, billiards and gambling.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna Kammer; three children, Linda Tharp and her husband John, Donna Craig and her boyfriend Wes, and son Kenneth Kammer, Jr.; grandchildren, Lori Tharp and her fiancé Tony, Adam Tharp, David Reeves and his wife Alison, Kenneth Craig and Elijah Force; two great grandchildren, Emily Reeves and Lisette Acevedo; a brother, Fred Kammer and his wife Helen and a sister Susan Rhodes and her husband Frank, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Force who died in November 2012. A service honoring his life will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday September 3, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main St., Elkton, MD 21921. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be private at a later date.
