Joseph Walter Ricker, 83, of Charlestown, formerly of Honey Brook, Pa., died Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Calvert Manor Nursing Home, Rising Sun. Born in Honey Brook, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles William and Verna McAdams Ricker. Mr. Ricker was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. He was retired from Suburban Propane, Honey Brook. Mr. Ricker was employed with the Nazarene Adult Day Care, Rising Sun, as a driver for 10 years after retiring.
He was a member of the VFW Post #6027 Cecil County Memorial Post, North East, and American Legion Mason-Dixon Post #194, Rising Sun,. He is survived by two sisters, children, stepchildren and grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service honoring Mr. Ricker's life. The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 16, at Forks of the Brandywine Presbyterian Church, 1648 Horseshoe Pike, Glenmoore, PA 19343.
