John Robert "Jack" Baker of Perryville died Saturday, August 22, 2015 in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton. He was 77. Born October 3, 1937 in Cecil County, he was the son of the late Vernon Cornelius and Keturah Ann McCain Baker. Mr. Baker was a graduate of Perryville High School's Class of 1957 and a veteran of the United States Army. He was retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground. He is survived by his step-son, Daniel Woods; granddaughters, Christel, Olivia and Kimberly Woods; great grandchildren, Echo, Koen, Max and Matthew; brother, George Baker; sisters, Ethel Atkinson, Virginia B. Coleman and Eleanor Harris.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Rowland Baker, and second wife, Patricia E. Slayman Campbell Baker. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2015, 11 a.m., at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, August 28, 2015, 6-9 p.m., at the funeral home. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of Asbury United Methodist Church of Port Deposit, will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit. Memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Lodge No. 53 AF/AM or the National Kidney Foundation in care of Lee A.
