John Ralph McGlothlin of Conowingo died Tuesday, December 10, 2013, in Christiana Hospital. He was 56. Born May 8, 1957 in Havre de Grace, he was the son of Douglas B. McGlothlin and the late Elinor Jean Copenhaver McGlothlin. Mr. McGlothlin was a member of the Conowingo Baptist Church. He was part owner of Allcare Assisted Living of Conowingo. Prior to assisted living, he was the proud owner operator of a tractor trailer and a member of Operating Engineer Local 37.
Mr. McGlothlin was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast but could also be frequently found riding his golf cart on the farm with his dogs. He very much loved his family and many friends, but most of all cherished his time with his wife, children and beloved grandson Carter Jay. In addition, he loved the family farm and his variety of pets (especially Jack). He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carlene Williams McGlothlin, Conowingo; son, John R. McGlothlin, Jr., daughter, Lindsey Jade McGlothlin Blades and husband, Ryan; grandson, Carter Jay Blades; brother, Douglas B. McGlothlin, Jr., and wife, Ruth; sister, Kelly J. McGlothlin Benjamin and husband, Gary. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 17, 2013, 11 a.m., at the Conowingo Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Monday, December 16, 2013, 6-8 p.m., at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville. Family and friends are welcome to attend both services. Pastor Barry Devine will officiate. Burial will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora. Comments are closed.
