Jerrald Kincaid Simmers of Rising Sun died March 5, 2015. He was 64. Mr. Simmers was a lifelong resident of the Rising Sun area and had many dear friends that he cherished as family members. He didn’t let his relationships drift, but made an effort to stay in touch often with his friends and relatives. He worked for the State of Maryland for more than 35 years and developed many close relationships through his work and has kept up with those friends during his retirement. He enjoyed his retirement and stayed busy maintaining his property in an environmentally sensitive manner to help make this planet a better place. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Christine; his mother, Melva; sisters: Melanie and Lori; brother, Kenneth, Sr.; brothers-in-law: Udo Schreiber, Jim Geckle , and Gerry Otteni; sisters-in-law: Lynne Cherico, Charlene Reinhart and Theresa Otteni; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, dear friends and his beloved dog, Rusty.
