Vivian Arlene Burger Stecher of Perryville died Friday, January 9, 2015 in Atlantic General Hospital of Berlin. She was 87. Born November 6, 1927 in Menomonie, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Arnold and Emma Meslow Burger. She was formerly employed as a Registered Nurse by the Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace. Mrs. Stecher was a member of Perryville United Methodist Church and the Aiken Homemakers of Perryville. She volunteered at the Good As New Thrift Shop associated with Union Hospital of Cecil County in Elkton, and also was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels of Cecil County. Mrs. Stecher is survived by her son, Thomas Allen Stecher of Richmond, Va.; daughters, Constance Pearl Stecher Buchanan of Virginia Beach, Va., and Joan Carol Stecher Parker of Bishopville; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Tracy Stecher; son, Norman Tracy Stecher, Jr; and sister, Helen Burger Billiet. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 13, 2015, 1 p.m., at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville,. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015, noon-1 p.m., at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pastor Ray Graham of Perryville United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit.
