James Paul White, 76, of Chesapeake City, died on Sunday, December 11, 2016.
Born in Chesapeake City on December 9, 1939, he was the son of the late Paul White, and the late Madalyn Allen Price White Benson and Lee Benson. Mr. White was a veteran of the Delaware Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve 109th Ordnance Battalion. He had worked for Interstate United Company, Chicago, IL, General Motors Corporation, Wilmington, DE, and General Foods, Dover, DE. He retired from the Chrysler Corporation, Newark, as food service manager. He was a Master Mason of Cecil Lodge #125 and Union Lodge #48 AF&AM Masonic Lodge, Elkton. Other memberships included Scottish Rite Delaware Consistory Kent/ Essex, and a life member of Chesapeake Volunteer Fire Company. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, boating and fishing, listening to bluegrass and classic country music, watching the Orioles and Ravens, and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Carol Joanne Schofield White; children, James P. White, II and wife Pamela, Chesapeake City, Lori A. Combs and husband, Scott, Kennersville, NC; and grandsons, Logan Combs and Chase White. Funeral service was at 10 a.m., Friday, December 16, at the Hicks Home for Funerals.
