James Francis “Frank” Way, Sr. of Conowingo died Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton. He was 87. Born April 2, 1928 in Rising Sun, he was the son of the late Clement Dare and Mary E. Williams Way. Mr. Way was raised by the late Norwood and Margaret Williams. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church of Colora, and an active leader with Troop 92 BSA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during W.W. II. He was a member of the Jerry Skrivanek VFW Post No. 8185 of Port Deposit, and a member of the Rising Sun American Legion Post No. 194.
He was employed by the former Chrysler Corporation of Newark, Del., from 1949 until 1993 as a stockman in their Parts Depot. Mr. Way is survived by his wife, Gladys Watson Way of Conowingo; sons, James F. Way, Jr. and wife, Laura, of Aberdeen, David M. Way and wife, Lynn, of Graniteville, S.C., Mark R. Way and wife, Robin, of Conowingo; daughters, Mary W. Bolt, Dawn M. Leonard and husband, Paul, and Ruthie A. Moretz and husband, Brian, all of Colora; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sister, Mary Hawks of Newark, Del. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dan Bolt; brothers, Harold Way, Donald Way, Allen Way; and sister, Martha Cora Harrison. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2015, noonn, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church of Colora. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, June 11, 10 a.m. until 1noon, at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor Dr. David Burke of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Colora. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in care of Lee A.
