James Albert Page, of Perryville, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at his home. He was 81. Mr. Page was born in Perryville on December 6, 1932, son of the late James K. and Lois Mae Hasson Page. He was a graduate of Perryville High School and served as a Corporal in the United States Army in Kaiserslaitern, Germany as a Disciplinary Guard from 1953 until 1955. He retired in 1988 from the Ballistics Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground as a carpenter. He was a member of the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 of Perryville, and the National Rifle Association. His favorite hobby was working on firearms, reading and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
Mr. Page is survived his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Mae Edwards Page, of Perryville; daughters Linda Page Hindman, of Perryville, and Jo Ann Page, of Perryville; son, James E. Page and wife, Wendy, of Rising Sun; grandsons, Kenneth J. Page, of Rising Sun and Tyler M. Hindman, of Perryville; sisters, Margaret Joan McCardell and husband, Willard, of Perryville and Beverly J. McMillan, of Perryville; sisters-in-law, Pauline Page, of Perryville and Betty Page, of North East; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Carl J. Page and John R. Page; son-in-law, Michael Hindman and brother-in-law, Edward McMillan. Friends can call at the Susquehanna American Legion Post No. 135 in Perryville on Sunday, January 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post on Sunday, January 12 at 3 p.m. with Pastor Michael Caldwell of Asbury United Methodist Church of Port Deposit officiating.
