Irene F. Cleaver of North East died Sunday, October 29, 2017. She was 73. A lifelong resident of North East, she was born on October 28, 1944, the daughter of the late Ira Graham and Annie (Kline) Boulden. Prior to her retirement, Irene worked for the State Highway Administration. She was a long time and very active member of the North East Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include her children, Wilton E. "Butchie" Thomas Jr. (Renata) of Athens, Greece, Peggy Thomas of Port Deposit, Robbin Hahn (Dave) of Delta, Pa. and Tina Duff (David) of Rising Sun; seven sisters, Elsie Tuell of Carlisle, Pa., Robin Gervais of Elkton, Connie King of North East, Vivian Renn of Minn., Bonnie Boulden of North East, Verla Farr of Elkton, and Penny Copen of Elkton; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, James Russell; and a granddaughter, Maria Thomas. Memorial service, conducted by Rev. Paul Thomas, will be held Saturday, November 4, at noon at North East Church of The Nazarene, 135 South Main Street, North East, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
