Hazel Jane Baker of Port Deposit died at home Wednesday, April 2, 2014. She was 86. Born February 26, 1928 in Tioga, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James and Mabel Black Hensel. Mrs. Baker was formerly employed as a nurse by Father Martin’s Ashley of Havre de Grace. She is survived by her husband, Barry Lee Baker of Port Deposit; sons, Larry W. VanReenen of Blanding, Utah, Daniel R. VanReenen of Aberdeen, Timothy F. Stone of Bel Air; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and siblings, Mabel Wilmoth, Patty Pingly, Tom Hensel, Roger Hensel, Ginny Hedrick, and Dorothy Orders.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda C. VanReenen McCullum; brother, Henry Hensel; and sister, Nancy Hensel VanReenen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 11 a.m., at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, April 7, 2014, 7-9 p.m., at the funeral home. Pastor Charles H. Lashley of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Joppa, will officiate. Burial will be in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen. Comments are closed.
