Harry Claude Smith of Columbia, S.C., formerly of Elkton, died Friday, September 11, 2015. He was 82. Born in Paulsboro, N.J., he was the son of the late Harry Smith and Marion Adamson Smith. Mr. Smith worked as a millwright at DuPont for 38 years. He was a Navy veteran and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kay Smith; daughters, Deena Fawn Smith, of Folly Beach, S.C., and Lynette Rae Waltman and husband Paris, of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Paris Waltman, III and Raefe Waltman both of Columbia, S.C.; and sister, Betty Sorbello and husband Sam, of Paulsboro, N.J.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Smith. Services will be held in South Carolina at a later date.
