Harriett Mary Rea of Elkton died at home Saturday, November 16, 2013. She was 86. Born in Rising Sun on December 16, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Norval and the late Olive (Garvin) Coale. Mrs. Rea retired from the Department of Aging where she worked as a Receptionist. She most recently was a greeter at Walmart. She was a member of Janes United Methodist Church, Rising Sun.
She was very thankful for the care and devotion of her loving great-great granddaughters, Dajia, Allegra and Mya Coursey. Mrs. Rea is survived by a son, Willard Clinton "Bunky" Rea, Jr. of Laporte, Texas; five granddaughters, Holly Coursey of Elkton, Valerie McGlothlin of Port Deposit, Natalie Plate of Troy, Ohio, Harriet Kauffman of Ephrata, Pa. and Leslie Bryant of Elkton; a sister, Ruth Delp of Rising Sun; 20 great grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Willard C. "Bunk" Rea who died on April 30, 1997. In addition to her husband, she also was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Susie Rea; three brothers, Jack, Buddy and Harvey Coale; and a sister, Hazel Lewis. A funeral service, conducted by Rev. Drew Chastain, will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests on Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Burial will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery.
