Harriet Delores Brown of North East died Sunday, November 2, 2014. She was 65. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born in Elkton, on July 7, 1949, the daughter of the late Harry and the late Ethelwyn (Johnson) Brown. She retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground with over 30 years of service in Processing. A member of St. Mark’s AUMP Church, she served as the Finance and Correspondence Secretary.
She was an artist and a writer; enjoyed playing cards, reading mystery and romance novels and was a very good cook. She loved her pets, Sid the Chow, Leo the cat and Tasha the Chesapeake Bay pup. She is survived by a son, Damon Lee Brown of Laurel, two grandchildren, Rachel Sweetman and James Jianniney of North East; siblings Cedric Brown of Elkton, Milton Brown of North East, Dwight Brown of Corpus Christi, Texas, Malcolm Brown of Newark, Kenneth Brown of Elkton, Diana Thompson of Perryville, Theresa Walker of Roy, Utah, and Mark Brown of Elkton; three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 at noon at North East United Methodist Church, 308 South Main Street, North East, where visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until service time. Private burial will be at a later date in Mount Carmel Cemetery, North East. Comments are closed.
