Grace Louise ‘Polly’ Shoff of Rising Sun died Friday, March 25, 2016 in her daughter’s home in Mansfield, Ohio, where she has resided for the last 8 years. She was 75. Born in Rising Sun on April 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late David and Grace (Riley) Nickle. Mrs. Shoff retired from Zion Market, where she was the manager. She enjoyed bingo and puzzles, especially picture and crossword. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. In the last several years, she found great pleasure in spending time with both her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastime when all the family was together was to play pinochle.
She is survived by her children, Susan Lynn Hrbek and her husband Scott of Mansfield, Ohio and Larry David Stone and his wife Dorothy of Overland Park, Kansas; two sisters, Jacqui England and her husband Clifford of Calvert, Ruth Cameron of Joppa; two brothers, Barry Nickle of Wilmington, Del., Bill Nickle of North East; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 31, at 2 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, with visitation for family and friends beginning one hour prior to the service.
