George T. Stubbs, Jr. of Elkton died January 18, 2014. He was 78. George was born on March 27, 1935 in Elkton, to the late George T. and Dorothy C. (Loveless) Stubbs. He attended Chesapeake City High School, and later served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953-1956 as a wire man during the Korean War.
When he returned he found what he greatly enjoyed was farming and trucking. Mr. Stubbs worked for Davidson Trucking for 20 years and then became self employed until retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Chesapeake City Lion’s Club. He is survived by his wife, Edith (Lockwood) Stubbs of Elkton; sister, Kathleen Husfelt and her husband George of Childs; niece, Allison Everett of Elkton; great nieces, Brennah and Ashton Everett of Elkton, and great-great nephew, Ezra Everett of Elkton. A graveside service to celebrate his life will take place on Wednesday, January 22 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery, located at 312 Bethel Cemetery Road, Chesapeake City, MD 21915.
