George Allen Scarborough of Elkton died Friday, March 13, 2015, while in Calvert Manor Healthcare Center. He was 90. George was born on January 22, 1925, son of the late Clarence and Elsie (Cameron) Scarborough. He was one of 8 children – Samuel, Andrew, Milton, Robert, David, Eva and Mary Grace. Mr. Scarborough grew up in Cecil County and after 33 years of dedicated service, retired from the Perry Point V.A. Medical Center as a water treatment plant operator. He spent his retirement years enjoying crabbing, fishing, playing cards, drinking coffee with his “buddies”, growing tomatoes, watching NASCAR (especially his favorite driver Jimmie Johnson) and spending time with his beloved family. Mr. Scarborough is survived by his greatest love, his “sweetie pie” of 63 years, Louise Mae (Wall) Scarborough and five children, Kathy A. Kiser of Elkton, Debbie S. Cycyk (Steve) of Elkton, Brenda L. Pettitt (Rob) of Elkton, Mark A. Scarborough of North East, and Mary Ellen McCandless (Sean) of Elkton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Grace Cianelli of Debary, Fla.
We will miss his candid sense of humor and his twinkling blue eyes. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Tim Beardsley and will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 41 Justice Way, Elkton. There will be visitation for family and friends at 10 a.m. and services begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be immediately following service in North East Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church. Comments are closed.
