Frederick E. Janney of Elkton died at home Monday, March 3, 2014. He was 55. Born in Elkton on June 30, 1958, he was the son of the late Walter Roscoe and the late Vinnie Pearl (Coalson) Janney. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator, for Eastern States Construction for 37 years. Mr. Janney was a member of North East Church of God. He loved his church, enjoyed working, helping others; had a “wonderful smile” and a great love and compassion for others.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly J. Janney; daughter, Karen E. Shipley and husband Juan; and grandsons, Luke and Nicholas Elmer all of Elkton; his siblings: Elmer Janney and wife Mae of Oxford, Pa., Mildred Vance of North East, Mary Gibney and husband Jim of Rising Sun, Wilma Crouch of Elkton, Zetta Hermans and husband Ted of North East, and Drema Grafton of Charlestown; his in-laws, Isaac and Lois Conley of Elkton; brother-in-law, Wayne Conley of North East; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Griffith. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Ralph Massie, will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Rose Bank Cemetery, Rising Sun.
