Florence (McCommons) Lee Lockhart of North East died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in the Union Hospital, Elkton. She was 82. Born in Havre de Grace on October 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and the late Elsie (Kilby) McCommons. Mrs. Lockhart graduated from Havre de Grace High School. She retired from the Accounting Department at Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1994. Mrs. Lockhart was a member of DAR, serving as the Head of the Elkton Chapter. She loved raising African Violets and spending time with her Classic Ladies Group of Grace Bible Chapel. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her husband, James Lockhart, Sr.; her children: Cynthia Lee Foster (Stephen) of North East, and Rev. CH (COL) Wm. Sean Lee (Rev. Sarah) of Abingdon; two grandchildren, James Ryan Foster and Dennett Louise Lee; and two sisters, Lela McCommons of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Elizabeth Wyatt of Abingdon; and two great grandchildren, Savannah Grace and Spencer Jason Foster..
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William James Lee; a sister, Eva Jane Maltrup; a brother, Edward McCommons; and a grandson, Jason Randall Foster. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Grace Bible Chapel, 1949 Biggs Highway, Rising Sun, where the family will receive guests beginning at 9 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Lockhart’s son, Rev. CH (COL) Wm. Sean Lee, will officiate. Burial will follow services in Angel Hill Cemetery, Havre de Grace. At the conclusion of graveside services, a luncheon will follow at Grace Bible Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Bible Chapel Building Fund. Comments are closed.
